A few photos from my instagram (I’m @deepenn).
The words of wisdom you see in the image above come from a tweet by my friend Alex, who kindly allowed me to share them here. (Yes, Alex, I’ve admitted that you do say wise things occasionally!)
It’s a great reminder to go out and grab life, rather than letting it pass you by. It’s something that I could be a lot better at so I’m planning to put this up as my laptop wallpaper to help me along the way.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
Last time I told you about some of my cards.
This second set of cards are known as my iphone-made cards.
I was inspired by the square format that apps like Hipstamatic and Instagram use. (In the end, all these photos turned out to be Hipstamatic ones.)
Why did I put them on a white background? I didn’t realise it at the time but I think it’s inspired by how people customise the white borders on Polaroid photos. (That and I liked the simplicity of the design.) I had visions of people customising them with their own message.
These first two cards were made from photos taken at Columbia Road Flower Market in June. (Here‘s another photo from the same visit.) Although I had my digital and Instax camera with me, the iphone was great for grabbing photos while stuck in the middle of the lunchtime chaos!
This next card was taken on the same day as I wandered away from the flower market towards the nearest underground station. It seemed to suit using a monochrome film.
As I mentioned here, I love peonies so this was a very easy choice.
For the same reason, I had to put some clouds in too!!
The cards can all be found here at my Etsy shop.
(Silly me – I forgot to put a link at the bottom of the previous post! Not very helpful…..All sorted now though.)
As promised yesterday, I’m back again with the first of two posts about my new cards.
First up, we have my Christmas/winter cards.
The two photos on the left were both taken last winter during all the snow. I took the top one from just outside my front door, carefully editing out the nearby buildings!
The photo on the right is of Covent Garden last Christmas – I love it when people do something different with their decorations. (Carnaby Street is always worth a look too.)
The top photo was taken from my bedroom window. (After the snow-covered tree photo, it doesn’t sound like I move very far for my photos, does it?)
The forget-me-nots (the lower photo) is one of my all-time favourite photos that I’ve taken – I just love the colours.
To finish up, the rubber duck. Every time I see the photo, it just makes me smile – I’m hoping that other people feel the same!
On the right, we have the polyanthus flowers – I love how they all overlay each other so nicely.
Next time, I’ll tell you more about my iphone-made cards.
EDIT – All these cards can be found here at my Etsy shop. (Silly me – I forgot to put a link in!)
I’ve opened an Etsy shop! It’s here at www.etsy.com/shop/deepennphotography
There are 12 different cards
The set includes three Christmas/winter ones
and there are also five cards that were inspired by the square format you get with Hipstamatic photos.
Over the next few days, I’ll tell you a bit more about them all.
Having discovered the Anywhere app recently, I thought I’d try it out in Windsor. (It’s a simple idea – pick a card and follow the directions on it, taking notes/videos/photos along the way).
This is “Walk as far as you can see”.
This is part of “Collect Textures”.
These are from the “Blue card,” where you’re looking for everything blue.
Definitely a fun way to pass the time!
